Disc has some general wear, light hairlines / scratches, nothing sinister. Acetate has chipped on Rim of side 2 and does not extend to the music part of the disc.

  • This disc has an older style B&W Artisan acetate label from a period before they switched to the Artisan Sound Recorders design.
  • “In Time” track one, side one is neither on the label nor on the record itself, so the entire program on the acetate includes only 10 songs (NOT 11).
  • The song sequence with “I Don’t Know (Satisfaction)” switched from track two, side two to track one, side one where it replaces “In Time” when compared to the American release, appears to match only the UK LP with Cat. No. Epic S EPC 65444 (1973) which has the same running order.
  • The listing for the UK LP on Discogs [r.7615142] has a descriptive note which implies that this particular version of the album also has different mixes to the US release.
  • At a quick listen it seems that the acetate has different mixes which are presumably those present on the withdrawn US CD mispress from 1991 and the Japanese CD.
  • It is interesting to note that the original mix for “In Time” was the only track which was NOT different on these CD's when compared to the LP. All other songs were presented in their rare alternate state as mentioned on Discogs [r.14006692] after supposedly being taken from the wrong master tape.
  • There is a mention in the same listing that this tape was also used by Edsel (UK) as it was supplied by CBS (presumably the UK branch).
  • There does not appear to be any other vinyl LP version using the different mixes in the order previously noted except for the UK first release so we are concluding that this is probably an original reference acetate for that release taken from a wrongly supplied master originally sent out in 1973.
